I'll check my Hindi EVP DVDs for Song segments, if 'Songs Only' is at a new location on the disc.

BTW, I look at the actual location on the disc, where a song is stored. My Sony player's Layer info also shows a pointer, showing the aprox location on the disc. I can look at this location when playing Song Only Video and then also for the same song in the movie.

jag and Rana,
From PowerDVd or Zoom player you can add vob files through file mode
And play them separately. So we know what is inside a Vob file.
This is not the case with the newer batch of EVP dvds as they restricted the user from
Doing this.
Now for example Nee Sneham DVd has 7 major vob files with approximately 1 GB each. So total size for a 150-minute movie is about 7 GB.
I think songs with 30-minute duration take about 1.4 GB. If I use play all songs option power DVD shows the last file name, which has only 15,340 KB. Probably this is file where they store the information for this option

Off course my observations are not scientific or conclusive but I assume this means they probably not recording songs separately.

I checked Amar Prem and as soon as the first song was over, it went to the next chapter in the film, so the songs are not stored twice on this disc. I would assume that the other EVP Hindi DVDs I have are also like this.

Sorry, I was wrong when I said that 'SONGS' or 'PLAY ALL SONGS' segment has songs recorded all over again at a new location on the disc, in SHEMAROO or in EVP DVDs.

I checked EVP Prog DHARAMVEER. Songs played from 'SONGS' segment or played in the movie, are at the same location on the disc.
After the song that you selected to play, it does not go to the next song but the movie continues.

I checked SHEMAROO HERO. Here too, songs played from 'PLAY ALL SONGS' segment or played in the movie, are at the same location on the disc.
After playing the song that you selected from the 'PLAY ALL SONGS' menu, IT PLAYS THE NEXT SONG and the disc pointer goes to the location of the next song in the movie. A VERY NICE FEATURE. Playing songs only has been pre-programmed, (it's not a duplicate recording). It was this feature that made me think, initially, that the songs are re-recorded at a new location in the disc, which they aren't.
