I wonder, if this kind of film will qualify under any category, for the Oscars:

Made in Canada.
Miss Denmark.
No spoken words so No Language.
Phylosphical written quotes from many World Personalities (Including Mahatama Gandhi, Gautam Budha, Mother Terressa, William Wordsworth).
Beautiful Photography and Locales.
Basically a Nature Film, but runs over 90 min.
Beautiful Soothing Music (Includes Indian Classical Music Segments)
Very interesting (no body got up for a break), but No Story.
Not a Documentry, or may be it is??

Would you mind pointing out to me where you find the word "India" in there?

I am not in any way defending and/or agreeing with the Academy decision. I was merely providing you with a link to get a more detailed report on the issue.

That I realize. My question is: How does this qualify to be a product of India (since you were saying the only reason it wasn't sent from India was because of the brain-dead committee)?

Although I am not a 100% sure but I think the film would qualify for being an Indian entry because, it is shot in India, uses the native language of India and also there are Indian actors in it. But the primary two reasons are first two ones. Again this is not what I support, but rather just my understanding of the Academy rules.

I don't think that makes sense, honestly.

Let's pull this a step further, if I was hispanic and made a Spanish film filmed extensively in South America, could any South American country use that film? Where is the distinction drawn?
