The second SD title looks very attractive too.

For sure, it won't be progressive and it shouldn't be. Most likely, Music videos are recorded on video cameras that record 50 (50 for PAL; 60 for NTSC) half video frames per sec and these video fields must not be paired together to make 25 progressive frames. This is where Progressive displays should use BOB line doubling.

Audio Enhanced Dolby Digital - Does this mean fake 5.1?

I thought Super Digital stopped releasing DVDs on their own. What happened to them?

I thought I had mentioned this in one of my PMs. I didn't want to spread it in case it caused any troubles to it's release, as it happened in many cases where rights conflict. Anyway, it is one of my fav films and I am sure it got a decent transfer. At least, it is proudly claimed on its cover.

It's at IW for only $ 12.99 along with another SD pop music DVD which is also $ 12.99.

Is SD the unlikely alternative to DEI ? :O .. Progressively encoded DVDs etc. etc etc ?

SD or any other authoring house, will author a DVD, for a fee, from the source that customer provides. Source and fee for the effort are provided by the customer (YRF, VS, ----).

In the case of Abhinetri and some other DVDs, SD is making these DVDs for themselves. Like DEI solo titles, and other DVDs that DEI authored for EROS (DEI-EROS). DEI and EROS split because of money issues. Perhaps EROS didn't like the fee for progressive transfers that DEI wanted.

To all ppl who took a cavalier attitude towards DVD quality. I hope this DVD is like a pie on your faces.....

This is the way a DVD should be.... Progressive and all the way progressive.. No pseudo-progressive or no nothing...

Its been sometime since I have had time to enjoy the screenshots from a newly released DVD....
Hope Abhinetri is one such DVD and many more such DVDs will follow in future...

Kudos to SD for an excellent DVD!!! The screenshots look excellent. I also love the menus... :thumbs: This is a fine example of old film restoration. Hopefully other dvd manufacturers are reading this thread.

Received my copy of Abhinetri today. I am really anxious to go home and watch a decent DVD of a decent movie released after a long time.
