Thans sknath. I already know of the DEI prints. I have most of them. It didnt cross my mind that they are technically piaretd disks.

Looks like we dont really have any disks that are made by no name manufacturers that are better than the originals (as bad as they are)

Are the Shemaroo title available at indiaweekly? What titles are available under this brand?

Jag nope, I have asked Afzal to get me the Shemaroo titles but no luck (except maybe a few titles).

However If you happen to visit Toronto, you can scoop up the Sheraoo titles at either :-
Paan-O-Raama or
Apollo Video. Call up Umesh @ Apollo video (go and check out their phone number from my review of the Awara - Shemaroo review thread).. and give him a wish list of all the Shemaroo DVDs.

I have ordered Hera Pheri (Akshay Kumar version) , Tere Mere Sapne (Dev Anand), Waqt (Yash Chopra) and other Shemaroo titles and lets see when I get them I will let you folks know abt it.

I watched Andaz Apna Apna today and the dvd was encouraging. Maybe all hope is not lost. The transfer was really brilliant for an indian movie. "This DVD disc is Digiatally Mastered from the original film, offering sharp crisp digital video" This was actually true. I was very surprised to find that this is an Eros disc and there is no mention of DEI anywhere on the disc. Why cant they make all dvds like this.

I also watched Shaan today by eros/dei and that transfer and sound were brilliant as well for a hindi movie that old. It was really clean and a joy to watch. I recommend them both for buying.

After watching these 2 good dvds, my hopes for more decent dvds have risen :)
