Lamhe in the overseas has done really very well and the movie is among the best ever titles from the 90s period.
Actually Lamhe was called a classic right away after its release and you can hardly see any movie achieve the classic status so fast. Most movies take atleast 10 years to be called a classic and ofcourse not many make it to this category too.

Oh I agree the DVD is really bad and doesnt make any justice the greatness of the movie. Have you seen the interview with Karan Johar and Yash Chopra in the DVD? The colors and contrasts from the scences they put in that interview is amazing, while they made the DVD so bad.

As far as I am aware, this sort of film has never got a release in the UK - it's not a decision following the failure of certain films - I've lost count of the amount of times that I've wanted to watch a film, and it hasn't been released here.

While i agree, that the movies that have become hits are sometimes shocking, you cant be judgmental on why they become hits or flops. There are many reasons certain movies succeed and others flop. I guess its where the audience feels an attachment to the movie, which ever it is.

As for the comment of HAHK, sorry dude, but MAdhuri was the attraction there. She was powerful. I could go on and watch HAHK many times over. Plus this movie started the new convention of movies that came out afterward. The songs were enjoyable, the dances were enjoyable and though it may seem larger than than life, or a wedding as most people say, It had soul and conviction and Madhuri.

I enjoyed Lamhe, the movie did have a very off beat theme. Sri Devi was brilliant in Lamhe. Like everyone, you cant help but wonder why such movies would flop? I guess its these movies that are appreciated by a niche in the audience. At least the awards didnt elude Sri Devi that year.

Whole heartedly, it was Madhuri, Sri, and music were the main attraction, hard to beat!
