Headless brain of brainless head?

I intend to say headless brain only, because the movie is so confusing.

Karka Kasadara - > Stay Away

Kana Kandaen - Good movie. Totally different type of movie. Its about a rich&greedy business man, how he make friendship with people, give them loan and eventually suck their blood. These kind of people do exists in the world. Excellent acting by the villian (he is a malayalam actor). The only bad part of the movie was the climax - typical tamil movie climax - hero and villian fight. what else? For the whole movie, I was sitting on the edge of the table, cuz I was abt to to to restroom, but the movie kept me stayed in the seat.

The first half of RAAM was really good. The second half was really slow. Jeeva did his character really well. The music by YSR is enjoyable. The dark mood of the film is set by the excellent cinematography by Ramji. Ameer shows a lot of maturity in his direction. The movie is worth checking out.

Saw Raam today with absolutely no expections and guess what I was not at all disappointed with this movie. :o

Finally rented the DVD and i was "happy" with it , though the movie is cliched, extremely melodramtic and the music sucked, yet i whole heardedly recommend this one just for the 'subject' matter alone. I dont think it has repeat value but still worth a rental atleast. I just wish wish more such 'honest' efforts get made and more importantly get seen - Thumps up from me.

Good news on Anniyan DVD though odd that it has not US rights, esp for such a huge movie - the local theater showing anniyan was filled for 2 weeks !

Is Raam a dissappointing movie like Mounam Pesiyudhe by the same director? Then I'd rather not watch it.

I don’t know about Mounam Pesiyudhe but i think RAAM is a good movie, i think its the humor that really carried it through though in all honesty I think the director was trying to put forth the ill effects of "socially conceived idea of madness" in a commercial format. Its def worth a rental and/or to own - music is great, cinematography is excellent and lead actor is decently convincing. Since it’s an ayngaran it must at least be a decent DVD.

My 2 cents

kchan, your taste is completely the opposite of dvdisoil, so you may not like Raam. To me Mounam Pesiyadae is a better movie.

Why Jeeva is acting... Cuz his father is a producer. Same reason why few other people (not actors!) are coming (not acting) in films. Whats worst now is Jeeva's bro is also acting. Jithan. Horrible.

MP -> Good part was that its all for nothing. Director was talented enough to fool us. Good work!

Du - my taste lies in 'honest' film making, irrespective of 'art' films, 'escapist' films or anything in between. What I cannot tolerate is when a director becomes slave to the star-system and/or for mass appeal and makes compromises to his/her vision.

Dont take me wrong guys for pre-judging your taste! I am "encriching" my observation skills!

Kana Kandein

- pretty good film. Tight script. Good performances. Good songs by VS. Watchable once.
