Forgive me for I am fairly new to watching the films (going on 4 glorious months!!!).

I understand there are strict censorship laws, but they do allow ultra-violence. How come no nudity? Will there ever be any? Is change coming soon?

Rupin..u forget Desis are supposed to be holy.... you should not see "Objectionable things" which can corrupt you ( read..make u have PM sex!) ..hence no Nudity I suppose.... But why bother abt official versions..go for unofficial stuff always better than the best

What "unofficial" stuff? Remember, I'm a newbie. I've only bought the mainstream Bollywood releases (Laagan, Dil Chahta HAi, etc.)

But on another note nudity is allowed in Indian films but the films would be certificated X. Some low budget films (mostly produced by the underworld or buisnessmen) finance some of these porn films and release it on Cable, VHS and even VCD.

Nudity would never be seen a film certificted U, U/A (Over 12), as these films are watched by families. Films that are certificated A (over 18) would have some slightly sexual encounters as seen in films like Aks, Dil Pe Maat Le Yaar & Bandit Queen. But these are never too strong as according to the censorship in India Bollywood audieneces are not sensitized to sexual on screen (which I think is not ture after some of my personal encounters with asian females in the UK )

We don't need porn even if its soft. We need some good nude scenes of our favorite actresses. That would be enough to boost the ticket sales of the film. Just think, how many people would have skipped 'Swordfish' if it didn't have the academy award winning best actress Halle Berry in a topless shot. Just think the new Bond flick with her in it. I think it will do just fine at the box office and then video.

Imagine a topless shot of Urmilla in 'Rangeela' and then onto a first rate DEI DVD.

What mugambo ask for is simple.

..Ki ek Taraf hai GHARWALI, doosri taraf hai BAHARWALI

I for one would rather not see nudity in the indian movies. Keep it the way it is thanks.

Because they do not want you be traumatized for life by seeing girls like Nagma, Shakeela and Shilpa Shrodkar in the nude.

Nude scenes in mainstream indian movies will probably never happen too many heart patient in the indian population! besides it will create a greater population explosion!

According to several romours afloat on the net, Akshay Kumar is said to have done a full nude scene in his forthcoming film, Talash.

I've got some bad (?) news for you all - Pahlaj Nihalani, producer of Talaash, has given interviews on TV stating that there is no such scene in the movie, and that he has no intention of adding such a scene in the movie. He's planning on suing the people who started the rumour................wonder how long that's gonna take!!!!!
