YRaj DVD will be done by Prasad in progressive (similar to Kaaka Kaaka DVD quality).

Extras include Making of and Deleated Scenes. Menus are quite nice, expect the product to be out in jan/feb 2004.

Wow, YRF improving their DVD quality... best news I've heard in a while. Finally another DVD to look forward to.

It seems that we have to wait for a Karan Johar film for a good DVD from YRF
:stupid:

its a one disc edition. Also don't worry about silver/gold media....its all a myth that gold is better.

Making, deleted scenes, and probably some promos on 1 disc? :hmm: KHNH isn't that short of a movie so it will be interesting to see how much this will compromise the pq.

As for the disc quality, it's just that when Indian companies use the silver media, they use the worst kind. However, I have yet to experience a disc problem with my YRF dvd's so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Sorry to say but that is not correct, the media does make a big difference.

I don't think it's as simple as silver=bad and gold=good, because most of my American dvd's are silver, and I've never had a problem with those. Indian producers just cut cost and use the cheapest/worst kind which leads to all problems.

Agreed, it is not as simple as silver = bad, gold = good, but the fact is that for a double layered disk, gold = good and silver = bad <-- ALWAYS. The American DVDs that you are reffering to are single layered discs and therefore silver is fine. But you will very rarely find dual layered silver discs being used by Hollywood.

i think even i have to disagree with u sanjay... there are many UK releases which are on "silver" media and are DVD-9 (dual layered).... they work perfectly and i have not had any problem.... i agree with izzy tho.. indian dvd companies just use the cheapest media!!

As Faddy said, I am referring to DVD-9 discs which are dual layer. I know the oxidation problem only occurs with dual layer discs, but even then, there must be a different kinds of silver media. The discs that I am referring to include Monster's Inc., Scarface Platinum, Memento:LE, LOTR EE... so trust me, these are not single layered discs.

Mate you are wrong. It isn't the colour but the durability of the pits within the disc that make the disc a quality choice. I know gold media manufactered by VDC is shitter then the Silver media done by Wamo or technicolour all becuase of the groove and pits on the disc which holds the information. SO THERE :bash:
