How can you forget to have Bhappi Lahri and David Dhawan & Raj Sippy in this list? These are guys who have made a career out of copying and not much else.

I would beg to differ on Rajesh Roshan, he may have copied occassionally but then who has not in Bollywood, but on the whole he has given original music.

Well i wouldnt call that a copy... but surely it was inspired...
SOM had the backdrop of Nazis and Austria which was all relevant politically. Parichay was a contemprorary retelling of that story... and he cleverly reversed the roles... Jeetendra playing the role of Julie Andrews !

For obvious reasons using the Nazis and Austria as a backdrop for a Hindi film was out of the question, but the fact remains that the film was copied from Sound Of Music. If changing a few things here and there and reversing of the female character to that of a male makes it an original then a lot of the work of these other mentioned directors also would not qualify as a copy.

David Dhawan is a VERY bad copy cat!

Anu Malik has done some good music though, with Fiza, MKKH, Asoka, CCCC, Ajnabee, Refugee, but for some reason, many of his songs are either crap or just sound familiar...

Rodgers and Hammerstein based their play "Sound of Music" on a German film, Die Trapp Familie, so even that is a remake.
