Rakesh Roshan has just returned from a major schedule of KOI MIL GAYA from Canada. So what's so great, did you ask? Well, he wrapped up the entire schedule 3 days before the stipulated period. “We had planned it in such a way that work concluded before it was expected to,” he tells me.

It's for the first time that the film-maker is talking about his new project and this writer is in for a surprise when he discusses the extra terrestrial character that plays a significant role in the film. “This character was designed in Australia and it cost me Rs. 10 crores to make,” he tells me, “It looks so real. In any case it has to look convincing, otherwise the seriousness of this character would be lost.”

The special effects in KOI MIL GAYA are being handled by an American company, who are present on every single day of the shoot. “The effects are being executed simultaneously. It's the most expensive film I've made so far,” he says, “The budget is approx. Rs. 35 crores – a major chunk of the investment is diverted to special effects alone.”

At present 40 per cent complete, KOI MIL GAYA is scheduled for release in 2003.

i expect a flop...the story is obv a earth girls are easy...altho adapted to suit bollywood!

plus all that crap about it having great effects is HOGWASH!

if NAYAK had a 30CR BUDGET AND IT COULD ONLY GET SUBSTANDARD CRAP EFFECTS, THEN HOW WILL ANOTHER FIVE CR MAKE IT ANY BETTER!!??!!

also an important factor is that only the VFX will be done by DM ARTS!

only VFX... = crap!
:stupid:

The movie is 40%, thats right not even half complete, and people are so absurd to call it a flop already? Is that suppose to be a joke or do you honestly believe it is a flop with only 40% being completed, all of which you have never seen one frame of in your life??! Where has it been reported (by real news sources) that the script was lifted from a movie from 1989 no less? Or is it something you just assume because both have aliens in it? I saw this movie this one time, and it had aliens in it too, maybe it was from that movie, because they both have aliens, it all makes sense! :doze:

maine bas yeh kaha, ki considering hindi films di quality, apko koi badi expectations nahin hona chahiyeh, esp. special effects ke bare main!

apne kabhi NAYAK dekha? nayak ka budget 30CR tha! KMG ka budget kya hai? 35 CR! paach cr ka difference! 5 cr main ithney acche effects honge kya???

yeh movie ya tho baddi sohni hoge ya yeh duniya ki sabsi badi baquaas film hogi! exactly YAADEIN ki tharan!

So Koi Mil Gaya will flop because of the amount of money it has put in, and because some crappy movie with a horrible star cast (Anil Kapoor) flopped too? That is your argument? Again, your joking right? So according to you, if you put in alot of money in a film it flops?? What was SB thinking when he was making Devdas!?? He should of listened to you, I mean if he would of known that all his money would end of being a flop then he wouldnt of made Devdas, wait that was a hit right..... :doze:

-it has a ridiculous story line (esp for indian cinema)!
-SECONDLY, nayak's effects were done by the same company as KMG

Besides that it has a alien in it, what more do you know about the story? Since the movie is not even half way complete!!!

Everybody complains that indian movies have the same stories over and over again. If some one trys something different it's automatically gona suck!!! It's like the saying your damned if you do and your damned if you don't!!

out!!!!!

Again, going to ask, what exactly is the storyline about? Especially since the director/producer has been so secretive about the storyline, you manage to know all about it. You may have gotten a copy of the script, you maybe that special, but I dont think so. What makes you two think it was lifted from that hollywood movie? Or is it just typical make something up, and slap your bias views in there.......

Changing topic slightly, does anyone wish that filmmakers like Rakesh Roshan and Subhash Ghai would stop trying to keep up with the times? I'm not commenting on Koi Mil Gaya cos I know nothing about the film, but the standards of Rakesh Roshan's movies has been decreasing (although not as much as Ghai). He made some wicked films - Kaamchor, Khudgarz, Khoon Bhari Maang, and then we had Karobaar, Koyla etc. Roshan's film still are entertaining, but not as much as they used to be.

I don't think I need to say anything abt Mr Ghai.........
