I bought both from Indiaweekly. The Fiza had a few scratches on it it skits before the mehboob mere song. Dil Chahta Hai is the purple cover one wit a silver disk it skits for a while before te Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe Song and thereafter. Will IndiaWeekly exchange em and the DCH DVD had a few scracthes on it. They sent me scratched dvds.

I recently ordered 9 DVDs from India Weekly, out of which 5 were scratched (one of the being Dil Chahta Hai). 5 out of 9, this is something I feel is totally unacceptable. Then on top of that, to add to my misery a copy of Raaz which was not even scratched does not work at all. Fortunately only 2 of the scratched discs are skipping but you add Raaz to the 2 and I have 3 discs out of 9 that don't work.

I guess that is the last time I do business with India Weekly.

From what I've heard most Dil Chahta Hai DVD's are faulty in one way or the other. I had to return my copy 3 times before I got the one I now own (which is still faulty, but alot less).

I've just ordered the purple version of DCH to replace the old one, in the vain hope that the new edition is "fault" free.

Is the new editions affected :ffs:

Yes very much so. The new purple color version of DCH ia as flawed as the older cover ones. Only the cover has been changed and nothing else and since it is primarily the poor quality media used which is the problem the freezing issues remain.

I got DCH and FIZA (Spark) from IW recently. At the time of ordering Afzal had told me that the only stock left of FIZA is with broken spindles. He asked me to try it and return if it didn't work. Or else, I could wait for a new batch if it came. I did not want to take a chance as, because of DEI's uncertain status, it might never happen. Therefore I ordered it anyway.

As expected FIZA spindle was broken and hence had scratches on the disc, but the DVD plays fine on my DVD player and am happy with it's excellent picture. DCH, I have no trouble playing.

I guess, in your cases, if the DVD doesn't work, you can return it to IW. Their cutomer relation is good and am sure they will resolve the issue. Also remember, some DVDs do have problems playing on certain DVD players. For example, Mujhse Dosti Karoge is not recognised by my PC DVD, but plays fine on my Sony player. There are many other examples.

Hmmm. This film was one of the 3 I was getting ready to order. Perhaps I should try and find a replicated version rather than an original?

Sorry if i sound stupid but why should they have scratches if they're new. Were they loose because of broken spindles?
Do they get scratches when they're manufactured? Or Does dealers re-seal used DVD's ? As i know, i've never received any new sealed discs with scratchy discs (if not loose with broken spindles). I was planning to order from IW after all your praisal of them but was a bit alarmed reading this.

ActuallY I don't remember exactly but I think most have them had their spindles broken. But even then 5 out of 9 DVDs of different titles with broken spindles, something does not seem right here. Does it?
