I just purchased the DEI version of Roja. I watched it this evening and enjoyed the movie. I noticed on every review of this DVD, it states that the movie is 175 minutes long. And the back cover of the DVD says it is 175 minutes as well. However, I noticed that the counter on my DVD player says the movie is 139 minutes long. Has anyone seen this version of Roja? Have you checked how long it is? I wonder if there is another version that is actually 175 minutes? ???

Most DEI DVD covers says 175 mins dispite the films actual running time being much shorter. Its just inaccuracy and laziness on the box designers part. DEI version is the uncut Hindi version.

Okay, thanks Shahran. I was hoping there wasn't another version. Lately I seem to buy one version of a movie and find there is a better version out there somewhere. I've had to do that with both Bombay and Fiza. Not that the movie itself was any different, but that the quality of the transfer was better. :)

Yep I claim laziness too :baaa: Fixed the p/reviews on zulm to reflect the proper running time.

I hate it when we have to rebuy the film on DVD for better quality. Now I just wait for over six months then I buy the DVD at a lower price :) It has benefited me so far. So far I haven't bought any Hindi DVD's for a while (largely due to the poor output of the cinema industry + poor DVD quality). Now I just borrow off my mate to see the quality output so I know what people on this forum are dissussing.

Shahran: I know what you mean. I'm a relative newcomer to Hindi movies, not really seeing any until I purchased Lagaan a while back. That hooked me. So, I wanted to pick up some more on dvd. I checked the various forums and internet stores to get some idea's. It took me a while to figure out that DEI was generally better than Eros. So, I wasted a few bucks there through a re-purchase. Now, I check very closely before I order one. I have about 15 dvd's so far and am really enjoying them.
