Last night, I saw Ebert and Roeper at the Movies and they gave "Lagaan" Two Thumbs Up. Their review isn't up at the official site yet, but they really liked the energy and spirit of the film. Ebert commented that this is the type of film Hollywood used to make and that it could have the impact that "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" had. The clips they showed were from the DVD. I assume that Ebert's print review will be in the Chicago Sun-Times on Friday.

...I missed it!! I've been waiting to see that program ever-since Roger Ebert commented on Lagaan on his site, I knew from that point on that he would review Lagaan on his show and i wanted to record it on my VCR. I even managed to record there review of Monsoon Wedding. Instead, i spent last night watching the lousy HTHS.

:ffs: :ffs: :ffs:
..could you provide more input as to what they said on the film DragunR2?

I don't really remember everything they said, but Roeper mentioned that he really liked "Ghanan Ghanan," calling it "the song they sing when they think the rain is coming." The official site, http://www.ebertandroeper.tv, does not have the audio review up yet, but i'd expect it to be there within the next two weeks.

I have Ebert & Rooper's review of Monsoon Wedding on tape, but nor do I have the right equipment or even know how to upload it onto my computer. However, I have before posted up on the forum of what they thought of the film. Just click Here

"I saw the episode last week on tv, and they loved Monsoon Wedding, it sounded like the highest praised movie of the week. Roger Ebert commented that Monsoon Wedding could well be the first Indian cross-over film into western mainstream cinema. Richard Rooper said that Monsoon Wedding is one of the best films he's seen in the last few years (he could be comparing its quality to CTHD, since he loved that film too). At the end, they sumed it up by saying that Non-Indians should just take this opportunity and go see different cinema for once, and by choosing Monsoon Wedding would be a wonderful choice, because no one would be disappointed, its one of the most entertaining films playing in cinema right now.
They've even praised this film more than Mel Gibsons "When We Were Soldiers".

Ebert and Roeper's audio review

If that link does not work, go to http://www.ebertandroeper.tv and you'll see Lagaan at the bottom of the front page.
